Under the West Bengal Government Education Act, the Headmaster of a Government School (and for all I know, other "European" schools as well?), was required to keep a daily diary of events happening in the school.
The diaries commenced in 1905. The first diary runs from then until 1929. There is a break until 1935 when the diaries recommence again, and run until the last entry in 1953 (my last year at VS).
Although I have now completed transcribing the diaries from 1935 to 1953, I still have to edit out all references to people mentioned in the diaries to whom a reference might cause distress.....to them, or their living relatives.
The first diary, 1905 to 1929 will take a lot more time to transcribe. I also have a large quantity of early VADHA Newsletters to transcribe. Any volunteers?
The transcription of the 1905 Head Master's began in Dorroughby, near Lismore in New South Wales, Australia, on the 14th September 2005.
